How Grafokett solved SSCC labeling for delivery to ICA
Developed a better product
Over the years, Svenska Gödselbolaget has gathered a lot of knowledge about what works and what doesn’t in the form of fertilizer products, in order to be able to offer hobby growers and garden owners a good fertilizer product that works and gives good results. Svenska Gödselbolaget saw the need for a fertilizer product on the market that was well thought out in terms of climate, biodiversity and with a focus on circularity, recycling and reuse – and decided to develop one.

ICA demanded different labeling
A little while ago, ICA got hooked on Svenska Gödselbolaget’s products in the “Jordnära” series – which are fertilizers for various purposes, packaged for consumers. However, in order to deliver to ICA, Svenska Gödselbolaget had to deal with a completely new challenge, namely labeling their goods according to SSCC and GS1 standards. Previously, the products were labeled with address labels, at most, and then it was good with that. Delivering to ICA was a new level.
Through online searches, Svenska Gödselbolaget came into contact with Grafokett.
– The first contact with Grafokett felt professional and their proposed solution suited us well, says Hamid B. Moghaddam, co-founder and operational manager at Svenska Gödselbolaget.
“It was very quick for us to get started”
As soon as Hamid explained the challenge, Olof Hultberg and Grafokett had a plan to meet it. The solution proposed by Grafokett was simply this:
- A label printer.
- Labels in size 102×192 mm in suitable material – which in this case is direct thermo material as the labeling only needs to be readable during transport & arrival control at ICA.
- A computer connected to the internet (already existed).
- One CloudLabel starter account.
– It was easy to manage the overall solution and it was very quick for us to get started. We didn’t really have to learn how to set up SSCC labeling, it just worked right away, says Hamid B. Moghaddam.
In connection with the onboarding
we created everything they needed
Created templates and correct GS1 data
Grafokett helped create label templates for SSCC and upload the correct GS1 data into CloudLabel, to get production started as quickly as possible. Svenska Gödselbolaget uses Mac exclusively – which was no problem as CloudLabel supports Mac.
– In connection with the onboarding, we created everything they needed in terms of labels and code.
When they want to add more products to their range at some point in the future, it is handled by the company’s own users, directly in CloudLabel. It is very easy now that they have everything in place, says Olof Hultberg, Key Account Manager and CTO at Grafokett.
– We did not have the expertise ourselves, but we have received very good support from Grafokett in this work, says Hamid.
How to create a template for SSCC
What are SSCC labels and how to create SSCC labels? We have written about this before. But how do you actually create a label template for SSCC and how do you upload the correct GS1 data to CloudLabel?
– The SSCC label is available as a template from the start. The user can therefore use the standard template and add their GS1 company prefix themselves. Svenska Gödselfabriken wanted to customize the label a bit, so we did that together during the onboarding, says Olof.

Only one week from accepted quote to approved label
To get the label approved by the customer, in this case ICA, a sample was sent to ICA’s logistics department, which returned with a green light and a thumbs up. This happened only a week after Svenska Gödselbolaget accepted the offer from Grafokett.
– It was important for our customer to get started quickly and easily, and I think we succeeded in that,” Olof Hultberg concludes.
